all-volunteer team, performed most of the engineering design and was one of the
constructors.

Securement
system
Ullman designed a system in 1990 that secures mobility aides (e.g.
wheel chairs and scooters) on mass transit vehicles. It consists of a
standard interface on the chair and a docking unit on the bus or other mass
transit vehicle. The interface on the chair consists of two "D-rings"
made of 1/4" diameter steel rod. Two are used for redundancy and to allow
folding chairs to retain that feature. Chairs can still be "wheely"
capable and the total added weight is 3 pounds with the D-Rings installed or 1
pound with the quick install interface only. This was in production in
the early 1990s.
